Description: The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) is a not-for-profit, non-political association dedicated to the establishment and effective operation of World Trade Centers as instruments for trade expansion.
   
Membership: The WTCA now represents 326 members in 92 countries. They are all involved in the development or operation of World Trade Centers or in providing related services. These World Trade Centers service more than 750,000 international trading corporations.
   
Purpose:

The WTCA's founding principles are as applicable today as they were 39 years ago.
· To encourage the expansion of world trade;
· To promote international business relationships and understanding among nations;
· To foster increased participation in world trade by industrializing nations;
· To create and encourage mutual assistance and cooperation among members; and
· To promote and further the concept of the World Trade Center.

 
Member Facilities: WTCA members develop and maintain facilities to house the practitioners of trade and the services they need to conduct business, creating a central focal point for a region's trade services and activities, or a "one-stop shopping center" for international business.
 
Services:

· Client support for WTCA OnLine, the WTCA's Internet service
· Trade Research and Information
· Educational Programs and Facilities
· Business Clubs
· Exhibit Facilities
· Consumer and Business Services (e.g., hotels, banks, restaurants and shops)
· Trade Mission Programs
· Reciprocal Privileges at all other operating member facilities worldwide
· TradeCard - the secure new way to manage procurement-to-payment worldwide: buyers, sellers and partners connect to a hosted, paperless platform. Processes are visible.

 
Governance:

The WTCA is governed by a 24 member international Board of Directors, composed of executives from WTCA members around the world, and elected by the membership. The following four Board committees have been established to provide strategic direction and governance for the Association:

· Executive Committee
· Oversight Committee
· Risk and Audit Committee
· Nomination and Compensation Committee

Additionally, the following eight action committees afford WTCA members an opportunity to become actively involved in helping to shape the programmatic direction of the Association in the following fields:

· Committee on Facilities and Functions
· Committee on International Relations and Development
· Committee on Peace & Stability Through Trade
· Committee on Public Relations and Information
· Committee on Tourism, Hospitality and Cultural Exchange
· Committee on Trade Education, Training and Research
· Committee on Trade Fairs, Trade Marts and High Tech Parks
· Committee on WTC Standards and Quality
