CHANGZHOU – WTC San Diego and WTC Istanbul launched intern programs several months ago in cooperation with the University of San Diego and Bogacici University from their respective cities. The goal is to help students find internship opportunities at WTCs in Asia and Latin America. WTC Changzhou responded affirmatively to these proposals and welcomed Sarah Healy from WTC San Diego and Mehmet Celleck from WTC Istanbul for internship tours beginning July 5 and ending September 5.

They also want to gain some practical knowledge of international trade and advanced management systems. Among other initiatives, staff members of WTC Changzhou arranged for the interns to visit the companies and factories of WTC members, including Changzhou Tom Packaging Machinery Co, Ltd; Jiangsu Nanfang Bearing Co, Ltd; and Changzhou Minghao New Metal Material Co, Ltd. Through interviews, the interns learned about production lines, marketing strategies and management systems of local companies. The entrepreneur spirit and cluster effect in this region impressed the interns very much, and they each offered to help interested Chinese companies explore new markets in the interns’ respective countries.
Daniel Ban of WTC Changzhou said that the internship program perfectly demonstrates a core value of WTCA – reciprocity. He expressed his wish that more WTCs participate in the internship program to increase interactions among regions and enhance the effectiveness of the WTCA network. |
