Welcome in Advance to Beijing – “Early Bird” Special Extended to September 10, 2010
With a little over one month to go, we are pleased to confirm that we are continuing with preparations to launch a new and exciting format for WTCA’s General Assembly in Beijing from October 10- 13, 2010. The details of the Program and the several post conference activities are all posted on the WTCA Web site. To encourage maximum participation in these difficult global economic times, we have extended the” early bird “registration special until midnight (Beijing time), Friday September 10, 2010. We are fully aware of the frustrations that many have encountered in registering for the General Assembly. In cooperation with Annie Wu, we have worked feverishly with China Travel Services that is providing logistical support. We sent a representative to Hong-Kong and China to impress our concerns on the staff of CTS.

Consequently, we have seen a marked improvement in service and commitment to cooperate to make the GA a great success. Early next week, they will launch an electronic registration system so people would not have to fax information to them and the process would be sped up. We appreciate your patience.

The 2010 General Assembly is definitely coming on in Beijing. We have passed the critical mass to make it a successful event.

There are many reasons for you to attend. First, it will be the venue for announcing the results of the first-ever WTC-member elections for the Board of WTCA. Judging from the campaigns that have started among the 37 candidates for the 16 seats, this has history and excitement written all over it. For many years, WTCs have complained that the General Assemblies have lacked content and not addressed their needs. We have listened to you and designed a program that many of you have praised as headed in the right direction. The GA’s theme of “Strengthening the Network” needs all of you in Beijing to make it real and launch a new WTCA with a member-service focus. The new WTC Network Marketplace is being designed to allow more time for networking and business delegates to meet while we learn about individual WTCs. Please participate in this and showcase your WTC when you receive the invitation.

We are ready to roll. Hurry up with your registration and save 40% off registering at the door. Take advantage of this extension and pay $600 per person for the early bird instead of $1,000. This extension will be limited to the first 150 new registrants beginning from Friday, September 3, 2010. It will be first-come, first-served so be the first; and welcome in advance to Beijing.
