Trade Education Services

Foreign Commerce and Entrepreneurial Development Institute

Offers courses, workshops, seminars and conferences in order to improve technical know-how over trade and business administration practices. 

Our training centers are fully equipped, state-of-the-art briefing center offering executive management and technology training to assist you in every level in the growth of your business.  Our entrepreneurs receive training in the lates computer technology, management concepts, financial planning, marketing and related topics. 

All seminars are nominally priced; and the presenters are experts in their fields.  We have over 150 different seminars and courses oriented to built-up skills in management, start-up business and technology.

Some of the courses we regularly offer are:

Display and Exhibit Facilities

Meeting in Puerto Rico will never be the same. The new Puerto Rico Convention Center is the largest in
the Caribbean and the most technologically advanced throughout both the Caribbean and Latin America.
Boasting 580,000 square feet of total space, the Center can accommodate groups of up to 10,000,
in an ideal setting at the gateway to all the Island has to offer.

The new Puerto Rico Convention Center is managed by the experienced and knowledgeable team of SMG.
Founded in 1977, SMG is the premier convention center management company in the United States,
having grown to 170 facilities since its inception.

EXHIBITORS

The PRCC Exhibit Hall measures 152,700 sq ft (14,186 sq m) and is divisible in three halls. Features solid concrete floor, eight equally distributed columns, ceiling height of 30 ft (9.1 m), and a floor weight capacity of 350 lbs per sq ft (1,709 kg per sq m).

Each Exhibit Hall has an access door from the loading dock. One elephant door measuring 22 ft wide x 27 ft high (6.7 m x 8.2 m).

There are a total of 22 accessible loading dock spaces in the facility, 6 of them with automatic leveler. Each Exhibit Hall has 7 dock spaces associated with it.

Utility floor ports are located on 30 foot (9.1 m) centers and provide electricity, drainage, and phone connections. Compressed air and water are conveniently located in every other floor port.

Each one of the Halls can be utilized as a general session or plenary session for large groups. Exhibit Halls can be set-up in theater, elevated theater, classroom, banquet, or a combination of these sets. All equipment charges apply in the Hall when it is utilized as a meeting function area. Trade Information Services

PRWTC will answer basic general inquires. Also we can handle special requests or market information on Puerto Rico, mailing addresses and statistical data.  Requests generally will be answered depending on type of research.  Cost depends on the requirements of each case Market Research Report.  PRWTC will act as an intermediary with outside firms or companies for research reports.  Cost quotations will be provided upon request.

 

 


International Trade Library

Puerto Rico World Trade Center has over 1,000 references related information and various business periodicals.  There is also staff assistance available for basic referral and three computer terminals for online research.


Meeting and Conference Facilities

A small exhibition/conference room is available at our Foreign Commerce and Entrepreneurial Development Institute, with a seating capacity of 50 people.


Group Trade Missions

Our International Trade Division has developed a specialized mix of services that target companies that are ready or are already exporting in small scale:  Export Marketing Services, Export Consulting Services and Business Intelligence Services. 

Trade Missions

Provides to foreign groups the opportunity to meet with local economic and government officials, companies active in specific sectors of activity, potential partners, and to take part in industrial visits or trade fairs, all in accordance with the participants needs and mission objectives.  An integrated service is offered for incoming and outgoing trade missions. This service can include such items as meeting/conference space, hotel and travel reservations, arranging for meetings with local businesses, providing technical advice regarding local markets, market analysis, special research, providing verified list of companies and assistance with guest lists for receptions, interpreters, tours to business and tourist attractions, etc.

Free Trade Zone #61

  • The Puerto Rico Trade Company offers the services of Foreign Trade Zone # 61 (FTZ 61) as part of its commercial-support offering. FTZ 61 is located within the International Trade Center (ITC) which is situated within the municipality of Guaynabo, in the San Juan metropolitan area. The real estate division of Puerto Rico Trade and Export Company administers FTZ 61. In today’s international marketplace, FTZ 61 plays a vital role within the economic development initiatives of the Commonwealth and particularly in ventures seeking to expand international trade and commercial relations. The foreign trade zone is an integral part of the ITC, which includes 6 modern warehousing structures (approximately 632,751 square feet) distributed across 203 acres of space. 
  • FTZ 61 warehousing space offers all of the necessary elements to facilitate just-in-time transport, distribution, logistics, storage, re-exportation and other value-added activities.
  • Merchandise stored to be exported, distributed and/or manufactured will be tariff-free while remaining in the facilities and complying with FTZ regulations.
