Mark Condon is the primary interface between TCDC and the development and marketing of its World Trade Center projects such as the South Carolina World Trade Center building and its World Trade Showcase (WTS) operation. WTS will be the sales and marketing partner for international companies entering the US market and markets globally.

Mr. Condon graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA degree in Political Science. Prior to joining the South Carolina World Trade Center, Mr. Condon worked for fourteen years at his family business, Condon's Department Stores as Vice President and buyer for several departments. Mr. Condon's family business was established in Charleston in the late 1800's.

Mark Condon's background in the World Trade Centers Association:

  1. 1995 Vice President of Condon's Department Stores, Joined and was an active member of the SC World Trade Center.
  2. 1995-97 Completed course work in import/export from the SC World Trade Center
  3. 1997 Hired by the SC World Trade Center as the Managing Director of its SC World Trade Institute
  4. 1997-99 SC World Trade Institute became the most profitable operation to date and grew into regional programs and seminars; in addition web based courses were created.
  5. 1999 - 2007 named the Executive Director of the South Carolina World Trade Center (SCWTC)
  6. 2007 - Member, Board of Directors - South Carolina World Trade Center
    Accomplishments as Director:
    1. Tripled the budget of the SCWTC
    2. Won legislative support and recurring funding
    3. Grants from USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service
    4. Host of US Dept of State International Visitor Program
    5. Fully developed a trade services dept - 9 Steps of Import/Export which launched dozens of new companies and expanded hundreds of other companies globally
    6. Launched new high school courses on international trade called globalMARKETS and globalMARKETS Import/Export. These accredited courses are taught in high schools throughout South Carolina and are spreading to other parts of the world. http://www.scwtc.org/04services/global-markets.html
    7. Developed and received State of SC support for the World Trade Park and Education Research Center to grow jobs in underdeveloped areas of SC
  7. 2006 Mark Condon became a member of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Centers Association.

    In addition he serves on:
    1. WTCA Committee on Facilities and Functions
    2. WTCA Committee on International Relations and Development
    3. WTCA Committee for Tourism, Hospitality and Cultural Exchange
    4. WTCA Committee on Peace & Stability Through Trade
    5. Deputy chair of the WTCA Interregional Task Force for Trade
    6. Board of Directors of the South Carolina International Trade Conference www.scitc.org
      (In 2010 he will be Chairman of the SC International Trade Conference.)

    October 2006 at WTCA meeting in Istanbul - Mark Condon was recognized by Guy Tozzoli, President of the World Trade Centers Association as developing one of the top 10 World Trade Centers in the entire group of nearly 300 World Trade Centers in 90 countries

Mark is married to Shannon Foster Condon and they have three sons; Paul Mark and Jameson Joseph and Rory Molony Condon. Mr. Condon is a native of Charleston, South Carolina and lives on James Island. He enjoys boating, fishing and golf.
